In order to become an AME, Dr. Lindsey attended a week-long training seminar, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, to learn the extensive regulatory guidelines for issuing medical certificates. Please note that we currently offer 2nd and 3rd class and basic med evaluations but are not able to issue 1st class evaluations at this time.

Be Prepared For Your Airman Medical Exam

Preparation is key when it comes to guaranteeing you leave our office with a medical certificate. If you do not bring any of the required documents or medications with you, we may be forced to deny your medical certificate. It is our goal to make sure you know exactly what you need on the day of your exam.

  • A government issued photo ID such as a valid U.S. driver’s license or passport
  • Complete medical records
  • Your MedXPress application
  • Any medications you are currently taking or your prescriptions

Your Airman Medical Examination

At Star City Medical, we understand your schedule is busy, which is why we make obtaining your airman medical certificate easy and convenient. Dr. Lindsey is highly trained to perform your medical evaluation and is extremely knowledgeable and confident in the process of issuing an airman medical certificate to keep you flying. Here is what you can expect during your exam:

  • During the exam, Dr. Lindsey will make sure you meet the health requirements as set forth by the FAA. Some of the conditions Dr. Lindsey may check for include:

    • Sight problems
    • Poor hearing
    • Heart disease
    • Epilepsy
    • Allergies
    • Mental evaluation
  • First, make sure you complete your application on MedXPress prior to your appointment.

  • Dr. Lindsey will fill out the rest of your FAA application form.

  • If you meet the necessary medical standards, Dr. Lindsey will provide you with a medical certificate.
