Amanda Caldwell, PA-C
Meet Your Roanoke Physician Assistant
Born and raised just outside the Roanoke region in Botetourt, Amanda Caldwell is excited to return to her hometown to bring compassionate and comprehensive care to her patients at Star City Medical. Amanda’s educational journey to becoming a Physician Assistant first began at Carson-Newman University where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Determined to help others in the healthcare field, Amanda pursued a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Emory & Henry College.
Before transitioning to primary care and joining the Star City Medical family, Amanda worked as a hospitalist. While caring for a wide range of patients in a hospital setting, Amanda’s desire to provide exceptional care while diagnosing and treating illnesses flourished. Her favorite memory is when a patient came back to the hospital where she worked for treatment. When Amanda’s patient realized she would be under her care, the patient lit up and immediately felt a sense of calmness knowing she was in good hands.
As a dedicated Physician Assistant, Amanda has a special interest in managing diabetes, hypertension, heart disease and acute illnesses. She is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients, which allows her to provide personalized and continuous care. Amanda’s favorite part of her job is diagnosing and treating health issues to enhance her patients’ quality of life.
Outside of giving top-notch medical care to her patients, Amanda loves to spend time outdoors. You’ll find her doing anything from hiking, fishing, kayaking to hunting! Amanda is thrilled to be working and living in the beautiful Roanoke community where everybody knows everybody—establishing personal and impactful connections. A quote she lives by is, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.” –Proverbs 3:5
